We are currently seeking a Scientific Reviewer to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. This is a long-term contract position which offers: - Competitive salary with comprehensive benefit package - Tremendous growth opportunity - Opportunity to work at NIH, the world's foremost medical research center - Learn more about what Kelly can do for you at at **TASKS.** The contractor shall: + Work with staff to identify and coordinate the participation of reviewers for each application received by CSR. + Identify and select reviewers by matching the expertise of the reviewer with the specific science contained in the research grant applications. + Assess reviewers against applications for potential conflicts of interest. + Refer applications to identified reviewers. + Serve as liaison between federal staff and reviewers. + Assist with entry of reviewer data into the CSR Committee Management system in order to prepare peer review rosters. + Analyze and assist in validating payment information submitted to the NIH Scientific Review Evaluation Activity (SREA) Management and Service Center. + Interact with and coordinate the review activities with appropriate CSR staff. + Clarify administrative and policy requirements associated with peer review. + Ensure that high quality written reviews are obtained. + Obtain written critiques. + Subsequent to the reviews, manage the coordination of critiques from expert reviewers; evaluate incoming reviews for completeness and accuracy. + Provide recommendation for follow up by federal Scientific Review Officer. + Organize and plan face-to-face review meetings. **REQUIREMENTS.** The contractor must have: + Ph.D. in Biomedical, Life Sciences or a related discipline. Three (3) years of specialized experience plus a Master’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. Five (5) years of specialized experience plus a Bachelor’s degree is equivalent to a Ph.D. + Minimum of two (2) years of related experience. + Scientific expertise in neuroscience and/or neurobehavioral aspects of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. + Served as Health Scientist Administrator or have a record of serving as a funded Principal Investigator in one of the following areas: AIDs, behavioral and population science; basic and integrative biological sciences; neurosciences, development and aging; physiological and pathological sciences; translational and clinical sciences. + Experience using Excel spreadsheets. + Ability to utilize scientific keywords and identify potential conflicts of interest. + Strong communication skills, both oral and written. + Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills. + Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail.
