**Description:** Summit Technologies has available positions for Procurement Specialists. In this role you will negotiate with vendors, obtain quotes and resolve supply chain issues. This is a government position requiring candidates with U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance. **Job Description:** * Responsible for the procurement of supplies, materials and equipment necessary for the operation of the organization. * Contact vendors, obtain quotations, examine bids, make awards and place orders. * Follow up on all awards until completion of order. * Negotiate and settle with vendors regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, overages, cancellations and other changes. * Maintain files and records of materials, inventories and deliveries. * Provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced buyers. * Serve as a liaison between employees, customers and vendors in order to answer questions and resolve problems. * Coordinate with accounts payable and programs to reconcile invoicing issues to ensure prompt vendor payments. * Support internal and external audits; including preparing audit ready file documentation * Perform source selection and expediting, issue purchase orders to select vendors and enter pertinent data into Deltek GCS Premier Material Management. * Support data calls. * Participate in special projects as required. **Required Skills and Experience:** * At least 1-3 years of related purchasing experience. * Working knowledge of technical applications; including MS Office and Deltek CostPoint. * Excellent analytical and organizational skills. * Ability to work cross-functionally with contracts, program personnel, management, subcontracts, receiving and various other disciplines. * Ability to multitask; managing time and workload. * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. * Active Secret Clearance required. **Desired Skills and Experience:** * Ability to work in a collaborative, high-demand, client-driven environment. * Proactive problem solver (e.g., delivery/shipping, back orders, non-responsive vendors, negotiating terms and conditions, etc.) * Excellent oral and written communication skills. **Note:** Summit Technologies Inc. appreciates your interest.
