Marshall Street, Richmond, VA 23219 Schedule: PRN Shift: 7: Rotating Hours: Job Details: VCU Health System's Radiology- Diagnostic Main is seeking a PRN Student Worker. The Student worker, under the direction staff technologist, expedites patient care through the performance of high quality radiographic procedures on patients. With the guidance of staff technologist, performs patient education by explaining the ordered procedure to the patient prior to performing the diagnostic study. Responsibilities Communicate the goals, values and vision of the Health System Implements JCAHO standards related to the position's chief objective and demonstrate aptitude for compliance with VCUHS policies, procedures and customer service philosophy. Follows documented procedures, processes and guidelines Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific manager or manager designee. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements or as is in the best interest of the work area. Under guidance of staff technologist, required to explain all diagnostic procedures to patients/customers prior to performance of procedure. Qualifications Required Current SR or Jr student in Accredited School of Radiation Sciences One year student clinical experience One year of clinical experience in a accredited School of Radiation Sciences hospital based program Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrate clinical/technological competency as required Knowledge and delivery of age-specific care Demonstrates ability to prioritize work assignments effectively and efficiently Critical thinking and patient care/service skills Knowledge and skills for use of equipment used for patient care Preferred One year of clinical experience in an Academic Medical Center Clinical experience in Acute care/Trauma setting Demonstrates knowledge, understanding and requirements of VCUHS policies and procedures Demonstrates ability to understand, communicate and implement Radiology processes, procedures and guidelines Ability to receive information and follow task thru to completion Ability to make decision based on factual analysis of data/issues EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their protected veteran or disability status.
