Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Production Engineer who will report to the Lab Hardware Engineering and Integration Manager for Mission Systems, in support of International Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) and Oklahoma City Labs. This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mission Systems is responsible for delivering world-class quality Mission and Ground System products within technical, cost, and schedule commitments to facilitate global full-spectrum operations. The selected candidate will integrate producibility and manufacturability knowledge, information and requirements, into the acquire and define program phases, through the application of an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and implement solutions for the Airborne Surveillance, Command and Control (ASC2) labs. Responsibilities * Conceptualizing, designing and managing the engineering product definition by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies to satisfy customer requirements. * Developing, maintaining and identifying improvements for the planning, organization, and implementation of processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. * Resolving cross-functional technical issues. * Developing and validating new processes and procedures. * Performing analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, system security, and other specialties’ quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure success. * Developing advanced manufacturing and engineering technologies. * Advocating, teaching and deploying Lean Enterprise analysis methods and applying Lean processes and tools. * Interfacing with regulatory agencies, professional associations, suppliers and internal and external customers to implement program initiatives. Basic Qualifications * This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Preferred Skills * Experience developing statement of work * Experience in engineering product definition * Experience with modifying existing designs and/or resolving design discrepancies for electrical/electronics, to include cable designs. * Experience with Lean process implementation. * Experience performing analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, system security, and other specialties’ quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure success. Typical Education/Experience Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
