About Us: Volunteers of America of Greater Los Angeles is a large, national not-for-profit organization founded in 1896. We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans’ services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Responsibilities: The responsibilities are summarized as: • Verifies, corrects and enters participant information into centralized database; conducts regular audits to assure accuracy of data • Monitors HMIS reports to assure consistency with other hardcopy records and logs • Runs regular progress reports; creates customized reports to support shelter management and to provided other needed information • Coordinates with Case Managers to ensure HMIS intake requirements are met • Trains staff on HMIS and answers questions relating to the system • Oversees the privacy/confidentiality notification processes to meet regulatory guidelines Requirements: • Bachelor's degree preferred • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience using HMIS • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office suite as well as Internet proficiency required • Ability to develop relationships with families as well as a wide variety of stakeholders (schools, health, and public benefit agencies) • Excellent oral and written communication skills Additional Requirements: • 1 - 2 years’ experience working with people in recovery and/or homeless individuals • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred • Valid California driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation VOALA is an Equal Opportunity Employer
