Responsibilities Weston & Sampson has an immediate opening for a Dam Safety Engineer in any of our MA or NH offices. The successful candidate must bea Massachusetts PE (or have the ability to obtain a MA PE within one year) with at least eight years of experience in engineering and management of dam assessment and rehabilitation projects. The candidate should have experience with dam safety inspections, emergency action plans, rehabilitation design, dam removal, geotechnical and structural engineering, hydraulics and hydrology, and fish passage. The candidate should also have experience with preparation of engineering drawings and technical specifications as well as knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting requirements for dam rehabilitation and removal projects. The position will include project management, managing and mentoring staff, and business development. Qualifications The ideal candidate will also have proven business development and client relationship skills. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring geotechnical field investigations and construction activities, preparation of boring logs and daily site visit reports, and will assist with preparation of proposals, technical reports, specifications, construction drawings, and dam safety inspection reports.
