Overview To be the health manager for the camp; supervise health and cleanliness standards; work with camp director and staff; and help provide adequate physical health conditions for all. Responsibilities + To ensure that each staff member and camper has on file ahealth history and examination form, as required. + Set up system for health screening for arriving campers and staff. + Conduct inventory of medical supplies and place order when necessary, ensuring timely arrival of supplies. + Establish and follow appropriate medical routines utilizing approved standing orders including recordkeeping in the daily medical log, disposal of medical waste, managing and safeguarding medications as directed by physician of the camper or staff (according to prescription) keeping all meds locked up, and utilizing approved standing orders. + Make appointments, when necessary, with medical/dental personnel in community. Making sure that proper forms and supervision is completed. + Prepare “portable first aid kits” kits worn by all staff members who are responsible for campers. Set up a checking system to ensure that they are being carried when on duty. Also, set up first aid kits for each program area, offices, and dining hall, vehicles, and for emergency uses such as hikes, and overnight camping trips. Check to see that these are well kept. + Participate in and lead specific areas of staff development training pertaining to camp health and safety, CPR, first aid, and use of universal precautions for infection control. + Keep accident/incident reports for risk-management assessment. Qualifications + A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to share your faith with others + Licensed in New Jersey state as a registered nurse + Experience with children and young adults desirable in school, public health and pediatric nursing + Ability to originate, update, and/or monitor health care, maintain records, and implement the health care plan + Current CPR and first aid certifications + Desire to work and live in a camp community + Ability to relate to one’s peer group + Ability to accept guidance, supervision, instruction + Good character, integrity, and adaptability + Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control Job ID2017-3997 CategoryFitness Compensation MinUSD $6,000.00/Yr.
