About the Job

Responsibilities + Work with Divisional Music and Creative Arts Director to ensure that the primary goal of all ministries conducted out of the Music and Creative Arts department are Christ centered, leading the program participants to a deeper relationship with Christ and aligns with our mission + Coordinate details (programs, schedules, outside vendors) for divisional music and creative arts events each year: + Music & Creative Arts Camp + Junior Music & Creative Arts Conservatory + Senior Music & Creative Arts Conservatory + Divisional Star Search + SET/FET Events + Coordinate logistics (travel, lodging, audition times and schedules etc) for divisional participation in the following territorial events: + Star Lake Musicamp + NYSB Future All Stars + Singing Stars + Rose Bowl Participation + Territorial Star Search + Territorial Arts Ministry Conservatory + Coordinate details for music and creative arts participation at other divisional events as needed. + Youth Councils + Family Camp + Good Friday Service + Christmas Gala + SET/FET Events + Other events as requested + Coordinate tours of all visiting Salvation Army Music Organizations and other artists that are visiting GNY. Prepare budgets as required, secure transportation arrangements, contact corps responsible for hosting groups and follow through with all arrangements. + Organize all details related to GNY music and creative arts ensembles travelling throughout the territory and beyond + Maintain the divisional music library and manage instrument resources + Maintain divisional creative arts resources and manage all resources and props involved in the program + Serve on the faculty of Star Lake Musicamp or Territorial Arts Ministries Conservatory as requested + Oversee and develop content for the Divisional Music and Creative Arts website and social media channels. + Statistical recording and monthly statistical review of creative arts and music programs + Organize ensembles for special programs or events as requested + Liaison between corps and Territorial Music Department for the ordering of music publications. + Teach students in two corps per week as assigned by the Divisional Music & Creative Arts Director + Perform other duties as assigned. + Alongside Divisional Music and Creative Arts Director create the department budget and special events budgets for each event on the divisional music and creative arts calendar + Handle payment of any outside vendors + Review, code and authorize payments for invoices relating to the Divisional Music and Creative Arts Department + Approve all time sheets for Music and Creative Arts Department Staff (Except Director) Qualifications + Must be a uniformed Salvationist in good standing + Must be willing to actively soldier at a corps in the Greater New York Division + Strong Christian testimony of faith and holiness as this is a ministry position + Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree + Proven experience in Salvation Army creative arts and music programming and leadership + Experience in supervising people and planning programs + Strong organization and communication skills + Strong computer skills Job ID2017-3962 CategoryMusic CompensationNegotiable TypeRegular Full-Time
