Additional Information Purpose The Clinical Finance Manager is responsible for actively monitoring and managing the budgeting, financial reporting and day-to-day accounting activities for UT Health Austin. Essential Functions DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS AND REVENUE CYCLE DUTIES: Ensure the integrity of accounting information by reviewing, recording and verifying and entering transactions across UTHA. Financial transactions include but are not limited to processing of purchase orders, pro-card vouchers, cash/check deposits, travel authorizations, travel reimbursements, budget transfers, vendor setups, and authorizations for individual services. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements for UTHA. As part of this process, confirm that transaction coding for transactions in general ledger system is correct. Assist in month-end and year-end reconciliation with revenue cycle reporting to Finance and UT System. Includes pulling reports/data from multiple electronic health record systems. Reconcile bank account statements with revenue cycle data. Ensure payment/deposit batches are reconciled on a daily basis and assist in resolving any discrepancies. Match payments and revenue from insurance payers to the correct UT Austin Department working with UT Austin Treasury Department. BUDGET AND FINANCIAL REPORTING/PLANNING DUTIES: Develop the annual operating and capital budgets for UTHA, providing guidance and support to all departmental personnel. Communicate budget processes and procedures and provide problem-solving assistance to departments as needed. Monitor budget to actual results and prepare variance explanations to explain any derivations from the budget. Assist with preparation of five-year plans/forecasts and financial reporting information provided through regular budget monitoring. Provide analytic capacity in support of the initiative review process, capital investments, and business and academic program opportunities. Carry out ad hoc reporting and analysis in support of Medical School initiatives. Marginal/Incidental functions Other related functions as assigned. Required qualifications Bachelor's degree. At least six years related work experience. Work experience demonstrating increasing responsibility. Experience in academic healthcare, hospital, and/or multidisciplinary clinic setting. Broad knowledge of financial planning and budgeting, superb analytic, project management, and presentation skills, as well as demonstrated knowledge of and experience managing financial and capital planning. Strong organizational skills, a flexible work style and be able to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
