Requisition Number 17-1631 Post Date 8/22/2017 Title After School Program Coordinator City Modesto State CA Description The Salvation Army Golden State Division Modesto Red Shield Corps & Community Center POSITION: Christian Education Director/Teen Program Coordinator SUPERVISOR: Corps Officers DEPARTMENT: Corps STATUS: Non-Exempt/Full-Time – (This position is funded by a grant and is based on continued grant funding – position not to exceed one year in duration and may end sooner) OVERVIEW: The Christian Education Director is responsible to create, maintain and implement Christian Education and youth programs at the Modesto Red Shield Corps & Community Center. Requirements DUTIES: • Work closely with and under the supervision of the corps officers to develop and maintain Christian Education and youth programs: Lead or assist with Sunday School Assembly: Function as the Sunday School Superintendent: Coordinate and facilitate all Sunday School classes. Recruit and train Sunday School teacher. • Other duties as assigned by the corps officers QUALIFICATIONS: • Must exemplify and promote a Christ-centered lifestyle in thought, word and action • Familiarity and experience with Salvation Army youth and music programs, practices and organization is preferable • Previous work experience with children and/or teens in ministry setting preferred • Must adhere to Salvation Army standards and policies • Must possess and demonstrate good organizational skills • Must be creative • Must be an encourager • Must be mature, self-motivated, assertive, dependable and self-controlled • Must be capable of coordination and implementation of youth activities and programs • Must relate well with public, have good people skills, and have a cooperative spirit • Ability to foresee potential problems or difficulties and correct them before escalation • Ability to collaborate with community agencies and report statistics accurately to satisfy grant requirements • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds • Ability to work under pressure • Must be a team player • Must be able to work with preschoolers, children, teens, and young adults • Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent • Must possess a state-issued motor vehicle driver license, Class B license preferred Excellent benefits to include medical/dental, vacation, sick leave, STD, Life Insurance, Retirement (Defined Contribution Plan) and much more!
