Requisition Number 17-1327 Post Date 7/5/2017 Title Assistant City Modesto State CA Description The Salvation Army Golden State Divisional Headquarters Modesto Citadel POSITION: Registered Dental Assistant – Medical Services Coordinator DEPARTMENT: Berberian Homeless and Transitional Living Program SUPERVISOR: BHTL Shelter Director STATUS: Non, Exempt, FTE 30 hrs/week OVERVIEW: The Dental Assistant will provide complete dentistry support to the volunteer dentists and dental patients seen at the Berberian Transitional Living and Emergency Shelter. Those professional services include service connected interaction with patients, assisting the volunteer dentist in all dental procedures as required and teaching of basic dental hygiene methods to the clients served at the Berberian location. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: • RDA or experienced Dental Assistant preferred • Good communication skills • Ability to perform detailed work • Fluency in Spanish and/or Laotian a plus • Understanding of Salvation Army standards and policies and a willingness to adhere to the same. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Must be able to delegate and act in accordance with instructions. • Current CPR Certification • Strong interpersonal skills. • Strong organization skills. • Experience working with individuals who are homeless, addicted and/or mentally ill • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and demonstrate a friendly attitude, even while under pressure • Must have a valid CA license. • Must be able to pass a motor vehicle check. • Must be able to pass a criminal background check. • Must have the ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule. • Must have the ability to address multiple projects in a time-sensitive manner. • Possess self-discipline necessary to perform repetitive task without lowering the quality of work. • The Salvation Army requires all candidates pass a background check.
