Requisition Number 17-1888 Post Date 9/22/2017 Title Cook City San Francisco State CA Description The Salvation Army Golden State Division San Francisco Harbor Light POSITION: Cook SUPERVISOR: Food Service Manager DEPARTMENT: Harbor Light STATUS: Full-Time/Non-Exempt 40 hrs./week OVERVIEW: The Cook works under the supervision of the Food Service Manager to assist in meal production for the San Francisco Harbor Light Center. Requirements DUTIES: 1. Implement planned menus on assigned shift. 2. Participate in food preparation, service and clean-up. 3. Consult with Food Service Manager as necessary. 4. Assist in meal production for activities/programs. 5. Responsible for California Adult Food Program record keeping such as attendance and meal production sheets. 6. Provide assistance and perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time. QUALIFICATIONS: • Previous culinary experience. • At least 1 year experience in an institutional setting or similar. • Possess a valid California Food Handler's Card or Servsafe Certificate or can acquire within 30 days of employment. • Knowledge of kitchen terminology, equipment and knife skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead • Criminal background check, TB (Tuberculosis) clearance, and wellness exam required post job offer. • Ability to follow reasonable ergonomic accommodations, sit for long intervals, walk, stand, reach, bend, lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
