POSITION SUMMARY: The Salvation Army is serving more than 2,000 people annually at the 135,380 square-foot Kroc Center and Railton Place in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco that is comprised of six major components: a Center of Worship, an Education Center, an Aquatics Center, a Fitness and Recreation Center, a Special Event Facilities, and a Transitional and Permanent Sober Living for Homeless and Veterans. The 63,000 square-foot San Francisco Kroc Center redefines what a community center is all about. The unprecedented place of gathering and enrichment houses an array of education, sports, faith, arts and supportive programs. The programs, as well as the building itself, have been designed to stimulate the mind, body, and spirit, to provide hope, and to transform the life of each and every member of the community. Some of these features include: a college regulation gymnasium with Desso Armstrong Linoleum Line of Multipurpose Sports Flooring, dance studio, fitness center, climbing wall, outdoor courtyard, activity rooms for mentoring and education, a swimming pool and a traditional Salvation Army worship center. There is also a state of the art game room, computer lab and library. The 72,380 square-foot Railton Place, clean and sober living, is 110 unit, transitional and permanent residence for the homeless. Of these units, 27 are provided to young adults between the ages of 18-24 who have aged out of the foster care system. Another 83 units are available to chronically homeless adults and veterans. Program services include case management, substance abuse counseling, plus help with cooking, education, employment, and money management through the life skills program. Some of the workshops/classes we offer and will be offering include: cooking classes, education workshops, computer classes, art support groups, music support groups, smoking cessation groups, etc. The Center Director oversees and leads the operations and support to all facets of The Salvation Army Kroc Corps Community Center & Railton Place. The Center Director is responsibility for the management and continued operations of the Kroc Center to include ensuring all five pillars (arts, education, recreation, spiritual guidance, wellness) are addressed and reflected in the programming, activities, and offerings to the community. The Center Director is responsible for implementing the operations, programming plan, budget, staffing, and facility schedule for the Kroc Center. This position provides oversight in personnel management of full-time, part-time, and temporary staff as well as contractors and is responsible for leading the management team in the development and execution of a variety of programs, activities, leagues, rentals, building operations, and marketing. The Center Director must ensure customer satisfaction and safety through excellent customer service, training, policies, and procedures; and operational management support to the Kroc Center Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: ? Bachelor’s degree required in Recreation & Leisure Administration, Public, Administration, Education or related field. Master’s degree preferred. ? Must be at least 21 years of age. ? Minimum three years of management experience in operations for recreation, athletic, and entertainment facilities of similar size and type to the San Francisco Kroc Center. ? Minimum of three years prior experience supervising and managing multiple task professional staff. ? Possess demonstrated ability to develop and administer large, complex and multi-faceted facility budgets. ? Must be self-motivated with the flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment that is customer service driven and outcome oriented. ? Must be a person of high integrity. ? Must be self-motivated and can complete task and make decisions without the benefit of policy or clear direction. ? Have a philosophy of education and child development which is consistent with that of The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. ? Leadership skills, problem solving capabilities, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times while interacting with Kroc employees, guests, and the general public. ? Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently and accurately. ? Committed to comprehensive and in-depth analysis, planning, and implementation of every work effort. ? Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. ? Must be able to flex schedule as necessary to appropriately manage all Center activities. ? Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, scheduling software, and/or appropriate desktop applications as required. ? Valid driver’s license and insured transportation. ? Current First Aid, CPR and AED required. ? Required to pass a background check. RESPONSIBILITIES: BUSINESS ? The Center Director is responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the center, including but not limited to: Finance, Corporate Compliance, Legal, Contracts, HR, Risk Management, Food Services, and other duties as assigned. ? Direct activities in assigned venues and business units to optimize operational efficiency. ? Develop & implement budgets ? Establish policies and procedures for cash handling ? Evaluate and direct venue/business to ensure compliance with TSA policy and the RJKCCC mission and to optimize financial, membership and service performance. ? Oversee the preparation and implementation of the Center’s budget. Prepare and submit monthly budget reports. ? Assist the Administrators/Corps Officers to ensure compliance with TSA mission, policies and procedures, and the RJKCCC mission to optimize financial, membership, program, ministry and service performance. ?
