Requisition Number 17-1705 Post Date 8/29/2017 Title Administrative Assistant City San Francisco State CA Description The Salvation Army Golden State Divisional Headquarters Development Department POSITION: Planned Giving Marketing and Donor Management Assistant SUPVERVISORS: Planned Giving Directors STATUS: Non-exempt/Full Time (40 hours/week) OVERVIEW: The Planned Giving Marketing and Donor Management Assistant is an integral part of the Planned Giving team working to implement the daily requirements of the PGD’s annual Marketing Plan. This position is responsible for administering and monitoring and evaluating donor/prospect acquisition, donor correspondence, recording gifts and assisting in the marketing activities for the divisional Planned Giving Department. SCOPE OF POSITION: The Planned Giving Marketing and Donor Management Assistant position is principally responsible for implementing, administering, monitoring and evaluation donor/prospect acquisition and marketing activities for the divisional Planned Giving Department. Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Associate of Arts (“AA”) Degree in a business-related field. College Degree in business or communications preferred Must be detail oriented, highly organized, precise and efficient, and have substantial experience in initiating and maintaining files and records - including related financial and accounting transactions. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to communicate in a knowledgeable and personal manner with all levels of management, the public, professional and people from diverse backgrounds. (Spelling-90% Grammar- 85%) Must be able to conduct on line research using planned giving specific software and related on internet sites. Excellent telephone skills. Team player. Be self-motivated, able to work independently with little or no supervision. Donor service mindset. Strong analytical and research skills. General knowledge of business protocols. Must have ability and wiliness to keep information confidential Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the following fields: direct mail fund raising, marketing and donor research, administration and management. Highly desirable: previous supervisory experience in direct mail processing and administration for a non-profit, experience with data base management. Microsoft Word and Excel required. Microsoft PowerPoint and Lotus Notes proficiency preferred. Proficient (accurate) typing/word processing skills (60 words per minute) Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training – examples but not limited to: Lexis/Nexis, peoplefinders.com, WhitePages.com and other web-search tools Qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered for the position in accordance with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
