Requisition Number 17-1398 Post Date 7/14/2017 Title Case Worker City San Francisco State CA Description The Salvation Army Golden State Division San Francisco Harbor Light Center POSITION: Case Manager – Bilingual Budget No:406006 SUPERVISOR: Program Director DEPARTMENT: Harbor House STATUS: Full-Time/Non-Exempt (M-F & 40 hrs. / week) PROGRAM OVERVIEW: The Salvation Army Harbor House Emergency Family Shelter provides a safe place to sleep, at least one meal a day and critical social services to up to 30 families a night (about 80 individuals) for three to six months. DUTIES: 1. Attend and participate in scheduled case review meetings, staff meetings, and trainings; and represent Harbor House in the community as needed. 2. Communicate and collaborate with other case managers, supervisors, program staff, and community partners and service providers to provide optimal support to families. 3. Comply with regulatory agency requirements, agency and program policies and procedures. Case Managers in residential programs may also be required to attend hearings and arbitrations in accordance with the City’s Shelter Grievance Procedure. 4. Follow and reinforce program policies, eligibility requirements, and expectations for families to participate in the program. 5. To carry out other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Executive Directors. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, psychology, or related field and a minimum of one year of experience providing support services to families and/or individuals, including experience providing case management or a minimum of 5-years of experience performing case management duties. 2. Experience in a crisis setting and able to respond appropriately to emergencies including contacting appropriate staff and/or contacting and interacting with police, fire, and medical personnel as needed. 3. Demonstrate knowledge of issues facing program participants (e.g. substance use, mental health, domestic violence, resources for undocumented individuals, workplace reintegration, etc.). 4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 5. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English. Bilingual positions require providing verbal and written program and other information as needed to participants and staff who are predominantly monolingual in the language for which a bilingual premium applies.
