Requisition Number 17-2383 Post Date 11/10/2017 Title Food Service City Seaside State CA Description The Salvation Army Golden State Division Monterey Peninsula Corps POSITION: Food Services Coordinator SUPERVISOR: Corps Officers STATUS: Non-Exempt, Full-Time OVERVIEW: The Food Service Coordinator gives oversight to all aspects of kitchen operations with a goal of supporting and enhancing the various outreach activities and ministries of the Monterey Peninsula Corps. DUTIES OVERVIEW, NOT ALL INCLUSIVE: • Ensures that the kitchen, pantry, lunchroom and surrounding areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized manner. • Supervises kitchen staff and volunteers. Supervision to include reviews of job performance, training, personal hygiene, conduct, and punctuality. Schedules staff to ensure adequate coverage based on required standards. • Forecasts needs, ordering food and supplies to ensure that scheduled meals and activities are adequately supplied. CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER: • Under the supervision of the Children's Development Center Director, provides high quality meals and supplements to children, staff and volunteers. • Uses USDA Food Buying Guide as it may be amended for nutritional standards, portion control, acceptable substitutes, sanitation and storage. GOOD SAMARITAN CENTER: • Provides quality meals for clients of our Good Samaritan Center. • Integrates donated items into the menu planning whenever possible. • Makes regular visits, minimum once a month, to center to check in with staff, and clients, regarding meals. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: • Able to demonstrate written and verbal communication skills. • Must have ServSafe food handling certification. • Must have two years' experience in food service management. • Willing to take initiative. • Capable of maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality. • Able to demonstrate strong "team player" attitude. • Able to confidentially meet and relate to the public. • Able to work positively with staff members.
