OVERVIEW: The Master Teacher will have the responsibility for planning, supervising and implementing class programs in accordance with the objectives, policies and philosophy of the school. This position will include but not be limited to preparing a curriculum to meet the developmental needs of the children, treating each child with dignity and respect and keeping written record of children’s progress through observation and interaction. Also, may be called upon to assist as substitute driver and/or driver for field trips. Requirements DUTIES: • Assist fellow teachers and the Director in the formulation of curriculum to meet the developmental needs of students. • Plans, supervises and implements class programs in accordance with the objectives, policies and philosophy of the school • Supervises classroom teacher, associate teacher and/or assistant • Attends all staff meetings, and participating in conferences and other programs conducive to professional growth • Keeps written records of children’s progress through observation and interaction • Conducts parent/teacher conferences twice per year QUALIFICATIONS: • Must meet all state requirements for Day Care Center Directors as outlined in the California Administrative Code • Must be a sensitive and mature individual capable of working with children, parents and staff, maintaining effective working relationships with them either in or out of a supervisory capacity.
