Requisition Number 17-0875 Post Date 4/24/2017 Title Camp Counselor City Centennial State CO Description Temporary Summer Day Camp Counselor – Centennial CO Scope of Position: The Salvation Army is seeking: Summer Day Camp Counselors (2 part-time positions open) 1. Assist with the Summer Day Camp (SDC) where needed; assisting with supervision, guidance, and caring for children in an educational and recreational setting. 2. While not a specific ministry position, this position will often provide leadership support to Corps ministry components that are integrated into the SDC program. 3. Supervise and engage children in the SDC program. 4. Provide encouraging instruction to students during individual study times as well as group activities. 5. Be willing and able to provide help to students in the completion of their school work. 6. Assist the SDC Director in the teaching of lessons and activities. 7. Assist the SDC Director with supervision and/or leadership with math, science, English, Art, Music, and games. 8. Assist with food preparation, serving, and clean up. 9. Assist in maintaining discipline and encouraging all children to follow the center rules. 10. Assist in general cleanup of program area and with the closing of the facility each evening. 11. All other tasks as assigned. Requirements Position Qualifications: ? High school diploma or equivalent is required for all Intermountain Division positions ? Good communication and people skills ? Love of children and desire to build on their strengths ? Teachable spirit ? Preferred history of providing effective programming with children and families ?
