Requisition Number 17-1654 Post Date 8/24/2017 Title Assistant City Denver State CO Description After School Assistant Denver Citadel Corps – Denver, Colorado Scope of Position: The After-School Assistant assists the On-Site Program Director in operating of the Corps after-school program. This may include helping with whatever is needed. Typically, the After-School Assistant will be assigned regular, daily responsibilities by the On-Site Program Director depending on the needs of the program and the strengths of the Assistant. While they do not work independently with children, the Assistant play a significant ‘support role’ to the On-Site Program Director and/or Program Leader. The Assistant work on the frontline with the students, along with the Director and Lead. Requirements Position Qualifications: • Minimally 18 years of age. • Must submit fingerprints, and certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Universal Precautions. • Demonstrate a passion for working with children in a learning environment. • Collaborate as a team player • Assist with the After-School programming where needed; assisting with supervision, guidance, and caring for children in an educational, enrichment and recreational setting. • This position will often provide leadership support to Corps ministry components that are integrated into the after-school program. • Provide encouraging instruction to students during group activities. • Assist the Director or Group Leader in the planning, teaching of lessons, homework support, and activities. • Assist with food preparation, serving, and clean up. • Developing partnerships with parents and responsive relationships with children. • Assist in general set up and cleanup of program area and with the opening/closing of the facility. • Making sure each child is accounted for always • Maintaining a safe environment while reporting any issues to the Director + Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities. + Please view Equal Employment Opportunity Posters provided by OFCCP here. + The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
