Requisition Number 17-1386 Post Date 7/14/2017 Title Program Director City Denver State Co Description ON-SITE AFTER SCHOOL YOUTH AND PROGRAM DIRECTOR Red Shield – Denver, Colorado Scope of Position: The Salvation Army is seeking: The On-Site After School Program Director manages the local operations of the Corps’ after school and summer programs. This includes maintaining the Divisional standards, as well as supervision of the staff and logistics of the day to day operations. In this position the Director will maintain licensing and Colorado Department of Public Health regulations, plan and implement with staff, and track supply needs. The Program Director is responsible to ensure proper record keeping, parental permissions, program goals, outcome documentation, and health and safety standards. Requirements Position Qualifications: ? A four-year degree with a major such as recreation, education with a specialty in art, elementary or early childhood education or a subject in the human service field. ? Or two years’ college training and six months of verifiable full time or equivalent part time (paid or volunteer) experience (since the age of 18) in the care or supervision of four or more children. ? Within 30 days, you must submit finger prints, certifications in First Aid, CPR, Medical Administration, and Universal Precautions from a nationally recognized provider ? Knowledgeable about legal requirements for staffing, facility, nutrition, safety, etc. in regards to Colorado Department of Social Service’s and Colorado Department of Human Services Child Care Licensing rules and regulations. ? Able to establish and cultivate healthy relationships with children and parents. ? Preferred history of providing professional, effective programming with children and families. ? Microsoft Word and Excel, and email required. Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training. ? Strength in recruiting, hiring, managing, developing, and retaining individuals, empowering teams to elevate their levels of responsibility, and performance. ? Conduct regular meeting with child care staff individually and as a group for supervision, team building, communication, activity planning, program implementation, issue clarification, etc. ?
