Requisition Number 17-2558 Post Date 11/29/2017 Title Program Assistant City Grand Junction State CO Description Program Assistant Music Teacher Grand Junction Corps – Grand Junction, Colorado Scope of Position: The Program Assistant/Music Teacher assists the On-Site Program Director in operating of the Corps after-school and summer program. In addition to the primary task of teaching brass instruments, music theory, “timbrels” and other performing arts, the Program Assistant/Music Teacher will be assigned responsibilities by the On-Site Program Director depending on the needs of the program. This is a part-time position. Requirements Position Qualifications: • Teach brass instruments, music theory, and “timbrels” to students in the program • Demonstrate a passion for working with children in a learning environment. • Collaborate as a team player • Assist with the after-school and summer programming where needed; assisting with supervision, guidance, and caring for children in an educational, enrichment and recreational setting. • This position will often provide leadership support to Corps ministry components that are integrated into the after-school program. • Provide encouraging instruction to students during group activities. • Assist the Director or Group Leader in the planning, teaching of lessons, homework support, and activities. • Assist with food preparation, serving, and clean up. • Developing partnerships with parents and responsive relationships with children. • Assist in maintaining discipline and encouraging all children to follow rules. • Assist in general set up and cleanup of program area and with the opening/closing of the facility. • Maintaining a safe environment + Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities. + Please view Equal Employment Opportunity Posters provided by OFCCP here. + The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
