Job Description -The Department of Psychology and Communication at Texas A&M International University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication to begin in the 2018-2019 academic year. All areas of specialization will be considered, with a special interest in the following: media literacy, health communication, organizational communication, social/participatory media, or cultural and media studies with a research focus in Latin America/U.S. Mexico border studies/transnational settings. Responsibilities: -Job duties include an initial teaching load of two courses per semester, developing a program of sustained scholarship and publication, advising undergraduate and graduate students, and active participation in departmental and university service committees. Required Qualifications: - A Ph.D. in Communication is required at time of appointment. - Exceptional ABDs will be considered for hire contingent on completion of requirements for doctoral degrees. Preferred Qualifications: - Candidates with the ability to speak and write in both English and Spanish are encouraged to apply.
