Recreation Respite Assistant Department: JOB BOARD ACTIVE Location: Norwich, NY START YOUR APPLICATION POSITION: Recreation Respite Assistant (Part Time) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The On-Call/Part-Time/Recreation Respite Assistant will provide assistance and supervision to individuals and families enrolled in the Recreation Respite Program. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Ensuring quality recreational services for all families/participants registered for the Recreation program. + The implementation and facilitation of Recreation activities that are on the program schedule. + Supervisory and direct care responsibilities with participants. + Accompany participants on trips into community setting. + Providing assistance with mobility and community orientation. + Acting as a role model to individuals and their social skills. + Responsible for complying with all Part 635, Part 671, Part 624, and part 633 regulations in total, and reporting violations, deficiencies, and/or incidents to direct supervisor as they are discovered or indicated. + Completing all mandatory training in accordance with OPWDD regulations and policy including, but not limited to CPR, First Aid, SCIP, Abuse Rights and Reporting etc. + Following all policies and procedures. + Maintaining a positive relationship with parents, program participants and other staff. + Transporting individuals to community based recreation outings as needed. + Keeping supervisor and/or family informed of any health and safety issues as needed. + Any other duties as assigned by your Supervisor. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Candidates must possess a valid driver-s license and satisfactory driving record, acceptable to the Agency-s insurance carrier. Pass and maintain OPWDD Certification in CPR, First Aid, Strategies for Crisis Intervention Level I and II. Be able to lift 40 pounds with no restrictions. Position-s regular hours will be scheduled: Tuesday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm, Friday 1pm-9:30pm, Saturday 8am-4:30pm. Responsible for following agency safety and health policies, procedures and rules.
