About the Job

Primary Purpose of Job Oversee and organize all components of the Recreation Program. Essential Functions • Coordinate scheduling of all recreation activities. Plan semester schedules for each group. Order tickets and make reservations • Provide direct supervision to all Recreation Lead Group Counselors. Provide supervision to Recreation Group Counselors as needed • Collect fees for all programs and maintain appropriate records. Ensure that billing documentation meets with corporate compliance standards and is kept in the designated locked location. • Schedule and conduct intake meetings for all new participants • Monitor petty cash for all recreation groups, ensuring that receipts meet with corporate compliance standards and are submitted to Finance within the designated timeframe. • Facilitate incident review process and attend monthly Incident Review Committee meetings • Interview and hire new employees • Manage income and expense budgets for all recreation components • Serve as Recreation Lead Group Counselor for trips leaving Long Island and when needed for local activities • On-call every weekend by cell phone during all scheduled recreation activities • Schedule and facilitate full staff meetings and quarterly Recreation Lead Group Counselor meetings. • Provide MORA (Medication Oversight by a Responsible Adult) training to all Recreation staff annually. • Complete Quarterly reports for Nassau County Grant. • Attend and facilitate all Summer vacations as scheduled • Other duties, as assigned Requirements + High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Health Care/Human Services, preferred + Two years’ experience with the developmentally disabled + Background in Recreation and 1-2 years in a management/supervisory position, preferred + Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification + Obtain and maintain U.S. Passport + Clean, valid NYS driver’s license + Ability to communicate with families, individuals we support, agencies, and community contacts in a positive, professional manner + Good organizational skills + Basic computer skills, proficient in Excel and Access, preferred + Good verbal and written communication skills necessary **Requisition ID:** 7234
