Position Number: 004344 Department: College of Engineering (Col) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 9 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Energy Production and Infrastructure Center (EPIC) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of semiconductor devices for power electronics. Build a successful research program in the area of semiconductor device design, fabrication, testing, and applications impacting advanced power electronics.The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, with significant contributions to the microelectronics courses in Electrical Engineering and contribute to EPIC, departmental, college, and university service. Minimum Experience / Education: UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: Candidates at the level of assistant/associate professor will be considered, commensurate with professional experience and academic record. Candidates for all levels must hold a doctoral degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, or a closely-related field of study. relevant experience in semiconductor devices for power electronics will be considered, but particular consideration will be given to applicants demonstrating a desire and potential for interdisciplinary research. Of particular interest are candidates with industry experience covering design, fabrication, and application to market ready products based on wide bandgap semiconductor materials.
