About the Job

What you’ll be doing... + Physical design and infrastructure installation of all MTIPS hardware / software. + Install, test, maintain and upgrade network systems software and hardware in accordance with design and as built documentation. + Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN) + Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations + Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure + Implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team + Work with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution + Complete work in lab and operational environments. + Update and maintain technical and business documents + Provide support in maintenance, and follow through of schedules. Be able to maintain tight deadlines on implementation of required support environments. + Work with technical staff to develop Standard Operating Procedures. + Work with customers, engineers and management to improve the end-user experience through program or process improvements. + Ensure all program hardware and software are audited, documented, and processed per customer specific Asset Management requirements. What we’re looking for... You'll need to have: + Eligiblity to obtain and maintain a goverment security clearance + Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience. + Three or more years of relevant work experience. + Three or more years of network and security hardware installation or data center technician experience. + Three or more years of experience in a Tier 2 technical/engineering support of services role. + Knowledge in both hardware and software asset and configuration management as well as IT service management processes. + Knowledge of internet technologies, including experience with Routers, Switches, VRF, Cisco – WAN (MPLS, Internet, IPsec). + Knowledge of the function and configuration of Cisco networking equipment. + Knowledge of IP addressing including sub-netting and super-netting. + Willingness to work a flexible schedule to perform implementation activities. + Ability to lift 50 LBs Even better if you have: + Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline. + Knowledge of various networking technologies, hardware, and software. The ability to plan and coordinate implementations across multiple locations and/or interconnections with other network environments. + Self-motivated, eager to learn, and have the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment. + Able to use general telephone and mechanical tools to install equipment When you join Verizon...
