Job Designation MTSI is a global leader in shooting training equipment to commercial, military, and law enforcement customers. There are 3 groups of products: firearm simulator systems to enable marksmanship practice and tough shoot/no-shoot decisions, military shooting range outdoor targets for infantry and armored vehicle practice, and commercial indoor shooting ranges that provide safe enjoyable experiences. MTSI is a global leader in Live Fire and Virtual training equipment. MTSI currently has ~400 employees in 7 countries-US, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Holland, and UAE, performing sales and service activities with a majority of the employees located in Suwanee, GA. Most of the production and engineering is performed in Suwanee. We are looking for a highly talented, creative, hands-on software engineer to work individually or on a small team to perform fast new product capability demonstrations for new customers as well as supporting our wide base of existing customers. The virtual simulation team at MTSI has built the ultimate shooting video simulation and is the system of record for training the US Army, US Marine Corp as well as several other military and police organizations. The shooting simulations are important to teach those that use firearms some of their most important skills: choosing when to shoot or not shoot, and to shoot true when they do pull the trigger. Our simulations use some of the latest in video game technology to produce immersive experiences that replicate the equipment and stress levels of real firearm combat. Job Core Responsibilities This role will be initially focused on developing new capabilities for the Meggitt Training System Virtual training products. This role must learn our product line and how to help architect our new development activities. A considerable amount of effort will be spent working with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate that into demonstrations and requirements for a larger software group to execute. This role will not have direct reports, but will contribute to the organization at the highest levels, technically. This individual will also be looking outward for new technologies and capabilities to bring into the company to shape future products and define the future product roadmap for the future state-of-the-art in firearm combat training. Job Specifications Requirements: + Strong in C++ development in a Windows environment. + Education: BS Computer Science + 3-20 years (both junior/senior positions available) + Expert knowledge in working with modern game engines/computer graphics + Strong written and verbal communication skills. Desirable: + Experience with Virtual or Augmented Reality development. + Experience in Agile development philosophies. + Experience with Cry Engine, Bohemia VBS, Unity, or Unreal 3D game engines + Experience with Motion Capture + Ability to work independently or with hardware and software teams for design and integration testing. + Experience and knowledge of firearms either professionally or non-professionally. + Ability to travel (typically 1-4 times per year) This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
