**Maintenance Electrician** **Description** TheMaintenance Electrician will be responsible for the day\-to\-day maintenance andrepair of electrical and mechanical systems related to test facility andbuilding infrastructure equipment\. Duties require the electrician totroubleshoot and perform or coordinate preventive maintenance \(PM\), predictivemaintenance \(PdM\), corrective maintenance \(CM – repair\), and installation ofequipment and systems\. Specific duties include:Maintenanceand repair of electrical and electro\-mechanical control equipment in a highpaced automotive test environment\. Use in a safe and appropriate manner commonhand tools, multifunction electric meter, megohmmeter, and power distortionanalyzers to independently monitor and troubleshoot equipment and controlsystems involving single or multiple integrated systems\. Request support from vendors as necessary,perform inspections and repair of installed systems, visually inspect assignedequipment to identify problems such as leaks, unusual noises & smells,excessive temperature, proper fluid levels, filter cleanliness, power supplyproblems, electrical distribution equipment trouble, motor maintenance, controland instrumentation anomalies, and perform follow\-up repairs or coordinate tomake repairs when problems are found\. Must accurately record informationrelated to maintenance activities Computer Maintenance Management Systems \(CMMS\),including the creation, editing, and closing of work orders, and clearlycommunicate in a timely manner the status of work efforts and activities toresponsible facility engineers and management\. Typesof systems include all systems in support of wind tunnel test cell, includingbut are not limited to moving ground plane system, turn\-table and 4,000 kW mainfan motors, motor drives/controllers, switch gear, and main power feed\. Other systems include associated HVACsystems, air compressors and data acquisition and control systems \(computersand PLC’s\)\. Thesuccessful candidate must be a self\-starter that can operate with minimalsupervision, but will also function as a member of a Facility Team\. They must be able to work independently, but alwaysseek to expand knowledge in all assigned areas\. They must be capable of safely stopping work when interrupted\. Must be able to communicate clearly\. Thecandidate will be required to become familiar and comply with company policiesfor safety, and security\. Services will be delivered exclusively at a client facilityin Concord, NC\. **Qualifications** Licensedelectrician \(preferred\) or associates degree in a technical discipline with aminimum of 8 years’ experience working on 480V – 600V, 3\-phase motors, drivesand switch gear systems\. Preference willbe given to those with detailed experience with PLC controllers, 18\-pulsedrives, rectifiers, and power transformation\. The successful candidate must possess knowledge of the operation andmaintenance for mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems; must be able toread and interpret power distribution prints, technical literature andmanufacturers specifications; and have strong verbal and written communicationsskills accompanied by good organizational skills\. Candidatemust: * Workindependently and seek to expand knowledge in all assigned areas * Becapable of safely stopping work when interrupted * Provideconstructive feedback on maintenance tasks and the manner in which they areexecuted * Receivefeedback and be accountable for own actions * Displayconfidence and ask questions * Communicateclearly \(verbal and written\) with customers and inter\-department teammates * Readand interpret technical literature and manufacturers’ specifications * Proficientwith PCs and common software, e\.g\. Microsoft Excel®, Word®,PowerPoint®, Outlook®, and Adobe Acrobat * Experiencewith CMMS software: ManagerPlus, CWorks, SAP, Maximo, etc\. * Possessknowledge accompanied by experience on PLC, VFD, and system/facilities controlswith software and hardware/instrumentation required for facility integration\.
