**Controls Engineer** **Description** The TECH Group \(JTG\) within Jacobs Technology provides design and build services for government and commercial clients worldwide\. The market areas served are most notably test facilities and scientific facilities\. JTG is looking for a Controls Engineer to support projects ranging from small studies to multi\-million dollar turn\-key supply\. The successful candidate must be team\-oriented, organized, able to communicate to all levels of the organization, and able to meet deadlines in a fast\-paced environment\. The skills required include: + Develop hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for control and data acquisition systems\. + Develop control system software in PLC ladder logic, function block, LabVIEW, Matlab/Simulink, etc\. + Develop control system interface software\. + Develop embedded controls on commercial real\-time systems such as PXI or FPGA based systems\. + Support hardware assembly and fabrication\. + Perform facility startup, checkout and commissioning, domestically and abroad\. + Perform facility startup, checkout and commissioning\. + Communicate with clients and management regarding status\. + Coordinate with other engineering discipline and departments to ensure success\. + Experience with Simulation Software/generation a plus\. This position will require control system design and implementation that will include temperature, pressure, model positioning, system and human safety, and other advanced systems to meet the needs of today’s growing technology industry\. **Qualifications** Applicant must have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 5 years of experience in controls system design, development, and deployment\. Unusual or Special Physical Requirements of Position Examples: Specify % of Time + Field Work + Special clothing/equipment \(wearing\) + Must maneuver in and around facility equipment while obtaining field measurements and performing equipment troubleshooting\. 15% + May bring candidate in proximity of extreme temperature variations, rotating equipment, and high noise levels\. 5% + Will likely be in proximity of electrical and other hazards\. Appropriate PPE must be worn and may include eye protection, hearing protection, and arc flash protection\. 5% Description of Work Environment Examples: Specify % of Time + Inside? Outside? Where + Travel/transportation requirements + Other + Work will mainly be performed inside in office or lab environment\. 95% + Field work may include outside work\. 5% + Travel will be required to attend customer meetings and perform field work\. 30% Equipment and Machines Involved in Work Tasks Examples: Specify % of Time + Office equipment + Tools used in trade + Work with general office equipment \(computers, fax, telephones, copiers, etc\) 80% + Data Acquisition and Control Devices such as A/Ds, measurement systems, PLCs, etc\. 50% + Handheld equipment such as digital multimeters and ocsilloscopes\. 10% Criticality of Attendance Examples: Specify % of Time + Overtime, regular days, off days + Shift, 2nd, 3rd + Necessity for regular attendance + Occasional overtime required to meet demanding schedules 15% + During field assignments, 2ndor 3rdshift may be necessary 10% + Regular attendance is mandatory to meet schedules\.
