Title: RCP IV Shift: Full Time, Days Weekend/Holiday: Every third weekend. This position will be scheduled 36 hours per week. Job Overview: Delivers critical and non-critical patient care services to all age groups using selected invasive and noninvasive techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system. Provides respiratory care in in-patient and out-patient areas. Demonstrates a high level of commitment and professionalism. Must practice within scope of practice in accordance with the licensure act. The RCP IV may perform the following duties: + Performs and monitors patient progress and response to service. Assesses patients and makes appropriate recommendations based on outcomes with regard to therapeutic interventions. Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Documents comments to reflect actions taken regarding accounts to maximize reimbursement. + Correctly records all information in the patient legal record and maintains department records. Determines all insurance coverage’s as primary, secondary, tertiary, etc. + Educates patients on their diseases state, wellness, home care modalities and safety. + Applies technical knowledge to consult physicians with regard to cardiopulmonary status. + Treatments performed as related to age specific needs. + May be responsible for charge/team leader roles and other assigned duties. Education: Graduate of a 2-4 year Respiratory Therapy program with RRT credential or CRT credential with greater than 10 years’ experience. Experience: 1-3 years Other Skills: Credentials of RRT issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care or greater than 10 years’ experience as a CRT. Prefer active membership in American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC). Must demonstrate critical care knowledge as it relates to cardiopulmonary disease states. Involved in precepting all floors and critical care areas.
