We are the perfect fit for the future.* **Job Title: **BIM/CAD Technician **Location: **Laurel, MD **Description: ** ALEX - Alternative Experts is looking for a skilled BIM/CAD Technician for an opening in Laurel. The successful candidate will be responsible for documentation and support for a broad range of project types as it relates to construction design and execution. This involves working in multi-disciplinary, collaborative design and construction teams with engineers and MEP system planners. Specific duties include but are not limited to: * Field Survey: Gather field data and site information by means of surveying, hand measuring, photography and sketches * Pre-Construction: Review and Coordinate project requirements and design criteria with Preconstruction and Operation Project Teams. Review material standards, project coordination standards, BIM requirements and fabrication plans * Coordination: Draft and create construction documents, backgrounds, title blocks, coordination notes and details utilizing AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit. Assist with development and drawing of design details, plans, sections and notes independently and from verbal and written direction. * BIM: Gatekeeper of all in-coming and out-going model and drawing information. Manage submissions and ensure proper AQ/QC protocols are implemented. Work across disciplines to ensure an overall design fits together and works with Coordination Team to ensure overall design satisfies each discipline’s individual requirements. * Document Management: Recording and organizing of progress files, email correspondence, design alterations and project status. Printing, plot and scanning of various project plans and drawing data. **Required Qualifications: ** * 2 or more years of experience * Proficient in Revit MEP and Building Information Modeling (BIM) [Autodesk Revit Architecture 2015-16] * Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drawing production tools * Knowledge of Fabrication Cad MEP 2015 and Navisworks Manage 2015 preferred * Knowledge of design function and requirements * Ability to read architectural drawings * Ability to consistently provide highly accurate, detailed drawings * Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) * Excellent written & verbal communication skills **Required Education: ** * Associate’s Degree in relevant field *All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability.
