INSPECTOR II Job Type:Full-Time Location:Torrance, CA Post Date:04/24/2017 Job Description:SUMMARY:Inspects and tests precision machined components and subassemblies for conformance to predetermined mechanical standards, specification and tolerances according to the company’s quality procedures, production drawings and industry standards.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOther duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities may be made for one or more of the following:• Inspects semi finished components including, but not limited to, bolt blank stock, washers, internally and externally threaded fasteners, and raw material for conformance to customer specifications and production/manufacturing drawings• Final inspection of close tolerance fasteners in accordance with company’s internal procedures and customer requirements.• Maintains inspection reports and records inspection data on department approved forms.• Able to use precision measuring equipment and perform detailed dimensional inspections as required.• Coordinates inspection activities with the Supervisors and employees in the area where work is being performed.• Reads and comprehends blueprints.• May be required to determine methods of inspection to be used.• Responsible for scanning of paperwork, filing, data entry, and product certification as needed.• Inspects, adjusts, and verifies accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments for conformance to specifications and issues gages to support factory production.• Reviews calibration certifications in accordance with quality procedures and purchase order requirements.• Development of First Article inspection documents and creates inspection reports in accordance with quality procedures.• Review of final inspection documentation and assist compliance team as needed.• Adheres and implements all company HSE policies, procedures, and practices.• All employees are responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.• All employees are responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.• All employees are required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.• Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.• Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste.• Other duties assigned.Ways of working, Experience, and BehaviorsTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:• Analytical - Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Follows through on commitments.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory duties.ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIESEducation and/or Experience• High School Diploma or equivalent education.• Understanding of test equipment and lab procedures.• Minimum 2-4 years of inspection and/or physical laboratory experience.• Completion of college level mathematics, metallographic, or mechanical engineering a plus.Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems and familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software;
