PEAK Security Officers will be assigned to an exceptional client in the Rock Springs area. The basic functions of a Security Officer are generally to report observations to appropriate parties, provide professional and friendly customer service, respond and manage incidents, and conduct property inspections. Security Officers work with police agencies, clients, supervisors, fellow officers, dispatch, and our corporate office in Salt Lake City, UT. As a PEAK Security Officer, you will regularly execute the highest quality and effective communications in several ways: through written documents, in person, by phone, tablet, computer, and/or radio. Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following: Securing premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment and access points; permitting entry. Obtaining help by sounding alarms. Observing and reporting suspicious activities and persons on and around customer location. Writing detailed narrative reports and maintaining daily activity reports (DARs). Enforcing rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and responding to alarms and emergency situations requiring security assistance. Using technology (cell, electronic tablets or other devices) for checkpoints and requirements for immediate synchronization, reports, forms and locations in real-time (client specific sites) Demonstrating exceptional customer service and communication skills. Possessing effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner. Ability to use critical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to understand and implement all operating procedures and instructions. Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines and to maintain awareness of potential liabilities that may affect our company, our customers, and yourself. #### Education Requirements (Any) High School diploma or equivalent #### Certification Requirements (Any) MSHA Certificate Food Handlers Permit #### Additional Information / Benefits Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience High school diploma or GED Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email, Internet) preferred Candidates with a solid attendance history are highly desired Must pass a thorough background investigation and pre-employment drug test Certifications and Permits Must attend MSHA training to receive MSHA Training Certification Must be able to obtain or possess a current Food Handler’s Permit Physical and Rational Abilities Stand or walk during shift on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet). Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift. Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties. Occasionally lift or carry up to 20 pounds. Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks. Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination Work indoors and outdoors in fluctuating conditions such as cold, rain or heat. Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments.
