Performs as the Hardware Engineering expert in support of a Computer Forensics Lab operations. Designs and develops equipment, processes and systems that involve data networks and communications. Responsible for imaging systems and building and maintaining images. Hardware troubleshooting, computer / server configuration skills, repairing and testing workstations, servers, and networks. Analyzes equipment specifications and process requirements to conceive a practical design. Develops and maintains technical procedures, documentation and manuals. Compiles and analyzes operational data and directs tests to establish standard for new designs or modifications to existing equipment, systems, or processes. Performs a variety of system administration functions which are broad in nature and are concerned with the support of network systems, network servers and desktop computers. Qualifications: This position requires a minimum of three years specialized hardware/system engineering, and systems admin experience, and a computer technology-related degree. Specialized experience includes analysis and installation of computer based systems; analysis and installation of local area nets; fiber optic cable installation; specialized interconnect cable design and fabrication; and analysis and installation of communications systems, system administration functions to include support of network systems, network servers and desktop computers. Proven ability to work independently and under tight timelines. Clearance: Candidates must have an active TS/SCI to be considered for this opportunity. **Qualifications** Requires Bachelors degree or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience with a minimum of six months experience in one or more of the following: computer network penetration testing and techniques; computer evidence seizure, computer forensic analysis, and data recovery; computer intrusion analysis and incident response, intrusion detection; computer network surveillance/monitoring; network protocols, network devices, multiple operating systems, and secure architectures.
