School/Unit: College of Humanities and Sciences Rank: Assistant Professor Department: Robertson School Purpose of Position: This position will help the Robertson School retain its teaching and research expertise in advertising in the School’s ongoing endeavors to achieve the University’s Quest goals. Find out more about the School at cu.edu/ Position Responsibilities: 1. The faculty member will teach courses on advertising strategy at the undergraduate level. 2. Service: This faculty member will serve on School committees (as well as College and/or University committees as needed), contributing to the well-being of the School and the VCU community. Required Qualifications: The position requires a master’s degree or a Ph.D. in mass communications or a related field. Ideal candidates should have: • college-level teaching experience in advertising strategy with a track record of inspiring others to reach their full potential; • an established research agenda or professional focus in advertising strategy (including consumer research, data analytics, competitive analysis, and marketing strategy), with the expectation of continued productivity at a high level; • demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse working and learning environment (and a commitment to do so as a faculty member); and • expertise in one of the School’s existing focus areas of health communications, innovative digital media, and international media, or experience in producing award-winning work.
