PRIMARY PURPOSE: Coordinate the scheduling and routing of the school buses to ensure safe, efficient and economical Transportation services QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education/Certification High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas Commercial Driver s License Valid Texas School Bus Driver Certificate Minimum Experience Three years experience as a certified school bus driver Experience working with Transfinder Routing Software preferred Special Knowledge/Skills Skill in radio communications Ability to receive and give verbal instructions effectively MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Extensive knowledge of Transfinder Routing Software, use of Google maps, map quest, and other internet websites useful for safe successful routing Uploads all student bus information into Transfinder I and keeps it updated on a weekly basis on the district website Responsible for safely routing every bus in the district Supply campuses with student bus information Assist drivers, parents, and staff with routing issues Create and print maps of routes for drivers, dispatchers, office staff, and campuses Creates district wide Attendance Zone Maps and written descriptions for the District Website. Assist in preparation of State Reports; collecting mileage and student counts Knowledge of the disabilities of all Special students transported Create after school activity routes for safety and efficiency Assist in checking roads in extreme weather conditions Drive a school bus Dispatch Many other responsibilities as assigned EQUIPMENT USAGE: Uses radio and telephone communications, computer, typewriter, adding machine and intercom system WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment Subject to frequent interruptions The above statements are intended to describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this position and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
